Is a former history teacher who now serves as a professor of history at a local college. She has developed a curriculum focused on the neighborhoods and history of New York City.
Her husband, is the principal owner of a computer company with over 20 years of experience and is the Chairman Emeritus of the Westchester Information Technology Cluster.
They have two sons, aged 38 and 35, and two Golden Retrievers. Their home boasts a library of over 14,000 books, with 4,000 dedicated to New York City.
Susan writes for a local New Jersey publication, sharing secret travel and leisure tips around the New York Metropolitan area. She also contributes to three national magazines, including publications on dog travel.
Both Susan and Art have had thrilling adventures such as skydiving, whitewater rafting in West Virginia, dog sledding in Alaska, and swimming with manatees in Florida.
They offer 85 different tours in New York, 12 in New Jersey, and other areas. They serve as historians and consultants for national landmarks like “The Hall of Fame for Great Americans” and “The Gould Memorial Library” in the Bronx, one of the top five sites in NYC. Additionally, they are advisors and guides for the “New” Italian American Museum in Little Italy.
Interestingly, they have been portrayed as vampire hunters in a vampire novel. They are licensed and approved to teach teachers for college and graduate credit. Furthermore, they train tour guides in learning about neighborhoods and topics, creating presentations, and marketing.
Their extensive travels have taken them to over 40 countries, enriching their knowledge and experiences across diverse cultures and locations.
They host a weekly radio show, “Z Travel and Leisure” on WVOX Radio, which has been airing since 2002. This show is broadcast on New York State’s most influential station, reaching an audience of 5–6 million people.
In January 2010, they co-authored and released their first book, “IT HAPPENED IN NEW YORK CITY”, which was featured in local bookstores for book signings. They are currently working on a new book titled “STRANGE NEW YORK”.
Their expertise has been recognized by the Guides Association of New York, where they received the prestigious Apple Award for “Guiding Spirit.” Their media appearances include features on ITV London with “Brooklyn, the Other Borough,” the History Channel’s “Cities of the Underworld: Chinatown, New York City,” and The Travel Channel’s “The Secrets of Central Park.” They have also been featured on BBC Alive London for “The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” BBC Scotland for “Aftermath of the World Trade Center,” ZDT Germany for “Central Park—150 Years Old,” and TF1 France for “New York City Dog Friendly.”
They train tour guides and offer classes on “How to Be a Licensed Tour Guide.” Their expertise has been showcased on Inside Edition with “Taking Your Dogs Anywhere.”
They were selected by the Department of Tourism of New Jersey to create 12 tours and were chosen to lecture the Beijing, China, Department of Tourism on the touring industry. They are monthly contributors to the cable magazine NeworldTV, focusing on the neighborhoods of New York City.
Additionally, they have created over 60 virtual tours (via Zoom) of New York City and offer exclusive musical luxury bus tours with performers singing on the bus. Their tours also include a variety of food tour experiences, making their offerings diverse and engaging
